




Course Description:
The Sports First Aid course is designed for all levels of sport and recreational activities and can be used to train individuals who require basic first aid skills and training in the management of sports specific illnesses and injuries.
This course will provide first aid skills necessary to manage a patient who is not breathing normally, is unconscious or bleeding prior to the arrival of the emergency services.
The Sports First Aid course also meets the recommendations of the HSE Health and Safety at Work (1981) Regulations for Appointed Persons in the Workplace.
This course also meets the first aid requirements of the Department for Children, Schools and Families for First Aid in Schools
Minimum age: 12 years
Length of the Course: 12 contact hours over a minimum of 2 days. Maximum number of students on a single course is 12. Minimum number of students required to run a course is 6.
Course certification:
On successful completion of the course students will be awarded the 'Sports First Aid' certificate, which meets the recommendations by the HSE for Appointed Persons in the Workplace, and is valid for three years.
